Mezzanine Floor

A mezzanine floor lets you use the height of your existing building to create an entirely new level of usable floor space, without extending your building’s footprint. It’s one of the most effective ways to add storage, office or work area capacity when you can’t (or don’t want to) move premises.

Absolute Storage Systems designs and installs custom mezzanine floors across Victoria, built from pallet racking, long span shelving or Regal 3000 shelving, or from engineered steel structures for greater spans and load capacities. Timber, steel or open grate flooring options are available, our team can advise which suits your application.

Overview

What Is a Mezzanine Floor?

A mezzanine floor is a raised, intermediate level built within your existing building height, creating additional usable floor area above the original floor. It can be built as a relocatable structure, supported on racking or shelving uprights, or as an engineered steel structure for larger spans and heavier loads.

Because it adds floor space without adding to your building’s footprint, a mezzanine floor is one of the most cost-effective ways to expand storage, picking, packing or office space within an existing warehouse.

Why choose us

A mezzanine floor needs to be engineered around your building’s height, your load requirements and how the space will actually be used. Absolute Storage Systems has been designing and installing mezzanine floors for Victorian warehouses since 1991.

  • Built around your space – Every installation is customised to the size, shape and load-bearing requirements of your building.
  • Engineered to AS4084:2023 – Structures built from racking or shelving uprights meet current Australian compliance standards.
  • Relocatable design available – Structures can be extended, moved or relocated with minimal disruption if your needs change.
  • Full accessory range – Stairs, safety rails, gates, decking and lighting are all available to complete the structure.
  • Supply, install and support – One team handles design, supply, installation and ongoing inspections.
  •

How it works

Step One: Consultation

We assess your building height, intended use and load requirements to confirm a mezzanine floor is the right fit.

We design the structure, decking material and accessory fit-out around your specific space and operational needs.

Step Three: Installation

Professionally installed, including stairs, safety rails and gates as required.

Step Four: Testing & Compliance

We confirm structural stability and compliance, including any local planning permit requirements.

Step Five: Ongoing Support

We provide maintenance, inspections and reconfiguration support as your needs evolve.

Why a Mezzanine Floor Is Essential for Optimising Warehouse Space

When you’ve run out of floor space but can’t expand your building, a mezzanine floor is often the most practical answer. It creates a genuinely new level of usable space, without the cost or disruption of relocating or extending.

  • Increase usable floor space – Add an entire new level within your existing building height.
  • Create separate zones – Divide operations, for example warehousing on one level and despatch on another, or fast and slow-moving stock.
  • Customised to your structure – Size, shape and load capacity are built around your specific building and requirements.
  • Flexible and relocatable – Structures can be extended, moved or reconfigured as your business grows.
  • Avoid the cost of relocating – Expand your operational space without the cost and disruption of moving premises.

If you’re running out of floor space but the building itself has height to spare, a mezzanine floor is worth exploring. Our team can assess your space and advise on the right structure, contact us to get started.
