Pallet Racking Inspections

Pallet racking inspections and safety audits have always been a recommendation by Worksafe to ensure your pallet racking is maintained in a safe working manner. With the Australian Standards being updated in 2023, a greater emphasis has been placed on business owners to now ensure that safety audits are conducted at least, every 12 months.

Absolute Storage has a dedicated Audit Manager who will independently inspect your racking to ensure it complies with the relevant standard and is in good working order and condition. With the day to day demands in running a warehouse, it is easy to let damages or issues with your pallet racking get missed. Why not set up a regular safety audit program where we can visit your premises at pre-determine intervals to inspect your pallet racking.

Our Pallet Racking Solutions

Service overview

As part of our safety audit, we will inspect your pallet racking to ensure all damages are noted and that the required safety load signs accurately reflect how the racking is configured. We will note and itemise what components needs to be repaired or replaced and then at a suitable time, we will carry out those repairs with minimum inconvenience to the operation. Once completed, we will provide an “audit sign” to notify staff and any visitors that your racking is compliant.

A regular issue in warehouses is that with the best of intentions, the racking has been modified, such as changing beam heights. Did you know that changing beam heights can have a major impact on what the structure can safely hold? Changes to the racking configuration should only be completed in conjunction with an expert who can reference the manufacturer’s load table to ensure that the changes comply.

How it works

One of the requirements with the revised Australian Standard (AS4804:2023) is that safe working load signs (SWL) accurately reflect what the structure can safely hold when beam levels are set at a specific height. Regular safety audits will pick up any changes to the original configuration and ensure that the load signs are accurate or if necessary are updated to reflect the manufacturer’s specifications.
